Native to, Brazil, Paraguay

Cerrado scrub, in naturally open areas between the taller cerrado plants at an elevation of about 330 m. in full sun. The terrain is nearly flat or with gentle slopes. Palms grow in soft, white or red sandy soils. Within the Cerro Cora National Park and scattered as far as parts of Amambay, Concepcion, and San Pedro, and to Ponta Pora, Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil.
