Identification:
Stems solitary, to 15 m tall and 15 cm diameter, with stilt roots to 30 cm long. Leaves 4-7, with a prominent grey crownshaft; leaflets 22-43 per side, undivided, regularily arranged, pendulous. Inflorescences with 5-17 at each node; fruits ellipsoid, 1.7-1.8 cm long, brownish; endosperm homogenous.

Eastern Andean slopes, rain forest at 1100-1500 m elevation.
