Chamaedorea pauciflora Information
Identification:
Stems solitary to 2 m tall and 1-2 cm diameter, errect. Leaves 4-9, simple or rarely pinnate; simple leaves bifid, to 75 cm long and 25-40 cm wide; 4-7, linear to sigmoid leaflets per side. Inflorescences dissimilar; males spicate, multiple to 7 at each node; females spicate, solitary at nodes; fruits ellipsoid, to 1.2-1.5 cm long and 5-8 mm diameter, black, with persistent, thickened petals.

Native to, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru
Rain forest in inundated or noninundated areas, below 100 m elevation.
