A newly described species of clustering undergrowth Dypsis palm, 4m tall, diam. 1,5cm, leaves pinnate, 12 in the crown, in shuttlecock, leaf sheath covered of red scales, petiole absent, leaflets irregular, 8 in each side of the rachis, inflorescence interfoliar, orange, branched to 2 orders. From 593 m elevation, Fianarantsoa Vondrozo, Madagascar.
