Native to, India
Most references to Pinanga dicksonii suggest that it is from the Andaman Islands east of India, which is totally incorrect. This species is only found in, and is endemic to the Western Ghats in Karntaka, Kerala, Maharashtra, and Tamil Nadu in lowland rain forest at 350-1000 m elevation in India. This distribution is separated more than 1500 km from any other Pinanga species.
