Prestoea ensiformis Information

General Information:
A rare palm in cultivation, however, quite widespread in the wild in montane rain forest to about 1500 m in the Andes. It forms a slender, solitary trunk to about 10 m tall which holds a spreading crown of finely pinnate leaves.

Distribution:

Native to, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Panama, Peru

Montane rain forest, at 350-1800 m elevation.
